No digital camera! :( I'm borrowing my friend's tonight or tomorrow and pics will be up tomorrow!! :D I've already gone out and played on it, even with an inch of snow on the ground. It is the ****!!

haha jesus you're an ass. A) i've never been in an accident while drunk B) i've never gotten drunk to dull pain C) i almost never even take pain medicine D) i don't think anyone cares about how tough any of us are

dosoner 02-09-06 09:43 PM

color me guilty

humancongereel 02-09-06 09:44 PM

yeah, i think evanyc was just joking around.

flippin' sweet...that's one thing i miss about idaho. it snowed there. it just rains here. i'm not a big fan of snow...but a few times, i've just wanted to ride in the snow.

Flippin Sweet 02-09-06 09:47 PM

Yeah, not the most optimal of conditions, but pretty. And I can hone my skills riding in it. I found the perfect place to practice trackstands/skidding, etc: the practice football field. Once the snow melts, I'm there. :)

humancongereel 02-09-06 09:48 PM

do it in the snow. no one will drive there (will they?), and the snow will be slick for skidding and just...yeah. be fun.

extra points if you're riding really fast behind something waste high so they don't see the bike at first.

lumenredundas 02-09-06 09:51 PM

never said i was tough, that was you. and why thank you, maybe you didnt get my arogance from the title of (im just better than you). but you said the booze would soften the blow, which implies that you advocate alcohol comsomption so if some one were to get hurt the pain would be less. if you ride smart and ride within your abilties, with a clear head, the chances of you getting hurt are slim too none.

take responcibilty for your action and words(that goes to everyone)

Oh man, now they have sparks plus! It sounds ****ing terrible.

I've fallen off my bike sober far more times than I have while drunk.

humancongereel 02-09-06 10:06 PM

what is sparks plus? more alkiehol?

are you drunk? you're typing like you are and apparently reading like it too. i never stated that i advocated alcohol consumption. i made an observation that a wreck would hurt more if you were sober than if you were drunk. does that mean i'm promoting drinking? no. don't put words in my mouth and assume that you know more about me than you do.

why do so many xstraightxedgex kids annoy people...

ohhhh, that's right.

screamingveg 02-09-06 11:38 PM

My drinking team obviously has a cycling problem.

You guys need to stop that ****e.

yeah, i like do the running in slo-mo thing too... it's such an obvious gag, but it's such a good one it doesn't matter. i tend to ride no hands a lot, and my buddy always makes fun of me b/c i swing my shoulders back and forth and it looks like i'm groooovin' :D

hee hee.

1) evan: i was always more of a reversal of man kind of straightedge kid than i was earth crisis.

2) straightedge came around one night, push came to shove, and we were down to fight...

3) i feel like suddenly this message board became salt lake city circa 1997.

4) tonight i spent my last $5 (well, the last paper money i had, as the lq doesn't take plastic) on 24 oz. of sierra nevada pale ale, which, in case it needs to be pointed out, is punk as fXXXk.

5) that's clever, how i used the X's in the swear up there.

mrkott3r 02-10-06 12:02 AM

no drink riding stories from me, since the journey home takes me past a permanent friday/saturday night RBT, and riders get down for drink riding. I dont want a fine/lose my license. But thats just me

amen! how about former members of alfonsin? my fave sxe band ever.

nekochin 02-10-06 12:12 AM

i had a 40oz of "country club" before the ride home. no "energy enhancers" like saccharine sparks nor the flavor of a saporro. tough back nine though.

i always wanted to like them more than i actually did like them, but their stuff on the split with bread and circuits is pretty decent. now THERE was a band...

evanyc 02-10-06 07:29 AM

i hope to one day release a record with mike kirsh on it!

new Please Inform the Captain should be out soon.

back on topic though, drinking while you ride is fantastic. you aren't a true cyclist until you know how to pour a proper head in a water bottle.

+1

but i will add that i tend to push it a bit more while sober and most of my most traumatic experinces seem to occur while sober

automobile crashes (track & street)
motorcycle crashes (track only never touched down on street)
skateboard & bmx
as well as in general life being both times i got shot i was dead sober...

so maybe being sober doesn't work for me as well as my being intoxicated in some manner

that being said, getting drunk all day today, first time in weeks

anarchocyclist 02-10-06 11:47 AM

The only thing I like better than biking is puking on straightedge kids after shots and beers.

God I ****ing hate preachy straitedge dip****s.

In fact, I think i'm going to dedicate my life to negating the straightedge cause ala Maddox (http://www.thebestpageintheuniverse.net/c.cgi?u=sponsor)...

For every beer you don't drink, I'm going to drink three
Beer 1- For me
Beer 2- The one you should be drinking
Beer 3- This one is just because you are straightedge.

Not sure if this idea actually works, but it sure is spiteful. I like spite. And contempt.

anarchocyclist 02-10-06 11:57 AM

Wow. Apparently plucking your eyebrows is SXE as ****.

highpants 02-10-06 06:29 PM

i was pretty sure that was a dude until you pointed that out.

i've fallen off my bike drunk and sober, probably fifty fifty each, and because of ice every time.

TRaffic Jammer 02-10-06 06:33 PM

Some crazy assed tat work

ImOnCrank 02-10-06 07:13 PM

Beer! Whee!! I like the fact that it makes me faster and more invulnerable. Oh man I'm drrunk (only 2 r's) but still drrunk. I kinda wanna piss myself.

xTROLLx!

Yeah, sure you're "not preachy". And this thread was actually going to accomplish something other than a bunch of boneheaded remarks from the terminally dissatisfied.

There are much worse ways to destroy ones' self than having a few beers and riding a bike around. We all make our own choices. Find validation within yourself, kiddies.

And for god's sake, don't be afraid to change your mind.
