dead front wheel
i crashed pretty bad the other day and just realized my front wheel is toast. the hub is okay, but the rim (velocity aerohead) is cracked badly. so my question is, how much should i expect to pay for a new rim, as well as getting it laced up to my still usable hub?

40-60

Good chance to learn how to do it yourself. A wheel with no dish is pretty simple.
|
How about you call Iro or someone who sells aeroheads and then call your LBS.
I don't understand these posts. |
any front wheel will do for the moment, you know.
|
yeah, i have one i can use for the moment. i just wanted to know how much i should expect to be spending for an actual replacement.
EDIT: also, thanks guys. |
I hit a curb and buckled one side of the clincher flange. I took it to my lbs (where I bought the rim) and after talking with velocity, it looks like they have a replacement program. A lot of wheel manufacturers have one, apparently, where they exchange the rim at a discounted price. If you bought it online you might have some trouble. One more reason to buy local.

^Makes sense. I would imagine they would like to take a look for themselves at where and how it failed.
|
i'd say price of rim and $25 for labor. hopefully the hub is usuable.
|
yeah, i went down today and they told me 30 bucks for labor. i'm not complaining, it could have been way worse.
