I lifted this from an old Chinese propaganda poster (I cleaned it up a little and edited out the visible hand brake). Figured some of you artistic types could do some fun spoke cards or something.

Wow, they even have little pieces of bamboo on their heads for camouflage, like in those old bugs bunny cartoons.
The OG would make an even better spoke card....that thing's beautiful.

the art is 'cool' and interesting especially to us bikers, but the idea behind it and the reason for it's existence isn't so cool and I'd never put that on my bike knowing where it came from. But a cool find nonetheless.

It's propaganda. Every country creates it in one form or another. Take it with a grain of salt and appreciate it for what it is. The artwork's amazing and the concept's pretty cool. I'm a big fan of propaganda artwork and that'd make a great spoke card, if one were so inclined.

most of the chinese propaganda came during the communist uprising and also the cultural revolution. Two very bloody and sad periods in Chinese history. My grandparents had to go through parts of that and they don't like to talk about it.
The site said it was printed in 1974,so that means it was towards the end of the cultural revolution, where countless irreplaceable chinese artifacts and cultural items were destroyed. Books, music, anything to do with chinese culture was deemed bad and destroyed. Many people were killed or sent to re-education camps for ridiculous reasons and friends, neighbors and even families were torn apart and set against eachother. It's a very ugly part of chinese history, one that should never have happened but it did and the country is still trying to find what was lost to this day.
I appreciate the art from a designer's point of view, but the chinese part of me ( a big part) can't really appreciate it fully knowing where it came from.
Just my point of view... hope I dont' sound preachy, just wanted to explain my reasoning.
