Posted already...but funny vid nonetheless.

teiaperigosa 02-12-06 05:12 PM

funny...
I was glad to see the comical nature of "getting even" in a way that was calm and harmeless (in the face of dangerous motorist road rage)
what is not so funny, however, is how often drivers really obsess over people touching their cars, as if it were dirtying it ...fuk...when I touch your car, be happy cause I'm cleaning the filth off of it inadvertently

humancongereel 02-12-06 05:16 PM

ha ha...but it IS sort of like if you leaned on a ped while youi stopped. stupid as it may seem to some, touching a car is like invading someone's personal space...to a lot of drivers, their car is an extension of them.

i wonder if you would be as forgiving if some stranger touched your bike...

soyboy 02-12-06 05:54 PM

would anyone get angry if someone was leaning on thier house? i think a house is closer to a car than a car to a bike

the way I see it...as long as a car is on the road with me, Imma do what I feel comfortable to ensure my safety and my comfort....if that involves touching a car, so be it

matter of fact...in the hood, we sit on car hoods and trunks...just cause we feel like it....it does no damage to the car ...when the owner comes, we respectfully get off...if they want beef, they got it

if a stranger were to sit on my bike while it was parked, and they weren't sratching it up against the pole or whatever, I'd be coo with it...as long as they excused themselves when I came to ulock it. if they knocked it down, then that'd be another issue

because motorists never invade the "bubble of safety/comfort" of cyclists and peds on the road without a second thought. nope. never ever had that happen to me.

slopvehicle 02-12-06 06:53 PM

I think drivers would get pissed if I leaned on 'em.

To use a term you'd understand, you're whack.

Intelligence at its finest. You must really live in the "hood". Pull that **** one someones car who cares about it and you might find a gun in your face when the owner arrives. You want beef, you got it. Sitting on a car, especially if your jeans have rivets on them is very destructive.

humancongereel 02-12-06 07:53 PM

11 posts in and i already have no idea what's going on.

genericbikedude 02-12-06 09:22 PM

the only thing stupider than cars are people who protect them like they were babies.

thebigmrT 02-12-06 09:42 PM

i definitely agree, i was weaving through some cars at a light and i got as far as a could and had to lean on a car for the second or two before the light changed and the driver told me to get off his car "f-ing car" and to ride in a bike lane...on a street that had no bike lane haha in a city that has like only 4 or 5..he was a little touchy..when im in my car im happy to help out if someone gives a little lean

wangster 02-12-06 10:43 PM

I don't lean on cars cuz I think it's not neccesary or 'respectful' because after all, it is their property I'm leaning on, and sitting on car hoods is an a$$hole move. It can damage the car and you can scratch it without knowing it. I personally wouldn't mind if someone leaned on my car but that's cuz I'm a cyclist but I'd be pissed if someone's sitting on my hood or bumper.

genericbikedude 02-12-06 11:01 PM

if you dont want people to sit on it, get it off of my street!

agreed but you wouldnt have the neue without the old.

Spudmeister 02-13-06 12:17 AM

You don't need to touch my car, so keep your hands on your own vehicle. Its disrespectful to assume drivers won't mind. Folks pay a lot of money for their cars - why would they want you to use it as a bike stand? Give drivers the same distance you expect them to give you.

who in their right mind would have issue with a complete stranger sitting on their locked bike? ummmm... everyone!

bigbikerbrian 02-13-06 02:12 AM

that video was hilarious.

rvabiker 02-13-06 08:11 AM

The "hood"? Seriously? I think you have no idea what you are talking about. How easy is it to put your foot down? Touching someone's vehicle unnecesarily is stupid and disrespectful and when they get out of their car and beat your ass you will know you had it coming.

Very true! When I comute to work itīs ME who have to dodge in the snow because itīs so ****ing annoying to have a car slowly creeping behind you just becasue the lil' car shouldnīt get a bit snowy.. it might catch a cold or something!!

wangster 02-13-06 08:34 AM

have you ever thought that maybe the car's creeping because it's trying to be safe and not get outta control in the snow? I'll admit many people don't know how to drive in the snow/rain, but I'd rather they take it slow and creep behind me than to speed past me or try to go around me in poor conditions.

shants 02-13-06 08:40 AM

unlike some of you, i am rather indifferent about automobiles. although, even if i were some anti-car crusader, i think i'd still be able to acknowledge the fact that every one of them is someone's property (expensive, at that). cars may "suck" or be "coffins" (or whatever), but, regardless of what you think of them, they are important to the owner - just like your bike is to you. when i am inside at a restaurant or whatever, i tend to get apprehensive if someone is even next to my bike looking at it, let alone fondling it. this is because it's extremely important to me. my car, although a total piece of ****, isn't something that i'd want people ****ing with either, because i need it for several things.

trying to justify fiddle****ing around with cars, qua cars, is clearly really an attempt to rationalize your disrespect and disregard. you're not fooling anyone.

in any case, i thought that the video was fairly harmlessly amusing. enjoy.
