Fetish Position Frame

I've been looking around and haven't really found much information on the Fetish Cycles Position Track Frame. I was wondering if any of the geometry junkies out there knew what the handling characteristics of the bike were, and if it had any potential for actual track duty, and also how decent it would be on the street.

Geometry:
Seat Angle - 73.4 degrees
Head Tube Angle - 73 degrees

I know its a) not lugged and b) not steel, but it is c) all that I can afford, and I really apprectiate the help.

Thanks

Wasn't yellowfixedgear offering one in the trade thread a while back? It seems he had some experience with them even if he never built that one up.

Supposedly, but everyone who buys them gets them off ebay for $200. There is a seller on ebay who routinely sells them for $199.99. I think the list price exists mainly to make the ebay price look like a bargain.

The reason I ask is I am getting pretty psyched for the velodromes around my house to open up in a while, and I don't want to look like a schmuck bringing the wanna-be track bike to the races hahahahahaha.

Mine is spec'd:

59 cm Fetish Position Frame
IRO hubs laced to Black Un-machined Deep-Vs
FSA Vigorelli Crankset
Model V chain
Deda Elementi Aluminum Bars
Planet X carbon track fork
Egg Beaters (I'm looking for some better pedals for the track, if anyone has some let me know)

It rides better than my older bike (a Fuji Del Ray that I put road tires on) but that isn't much to compare it too.

I bought the frame off of ebay a while ago, and what is kind of a mixed blessing is that they didn't clear coat over the fetish decals. I've removed all of them on mine except for the downtube one that says fetish cycles. I'm trying to get some custom decals made that say something else like Sleipnir, or something to replace the downtube one.

Yea. I built it up and it road fine. Felt just like a fuji track pro. ( I put some nice parts into it.)

I had problems with my first lot of frames. One headtube was dented, I sent it back and waited a few months to get it back. Every time I called, I got some BS escuse saying it was in the mail or "maybe it got lost in shipping" It took me almost 3 months to get the replacement frame sent back. If Ryan at fetish would have sent me the replacement frame in a timely manner, I would still be ordering them for people. I sold mine because I want nothing to do with Fetish, not because of how it road.

The frames sell for 200 + shipping. I sold mine for 200 and ate the shipping charges. Don't pay attn. to the $799.00 retail, thats just ********

if you ride 59cm i'd get this instead...

https://www.bikemania.biz/PAKE_TRACK_...pake_frame.htm

hoping they restock in smaller sizes (57) at some time.

i've never heard anything good about the fetish frames, i've heard tolerable things at best. i know what it's like to be on a budget, i'm in search of a frame for about the same price, but for another $50, which isn't that much in the long run, you can have a Mark V...

I built up this frame a few months ago. It rides great. Yes the welds are ugly, but then again I've seen some disgusting welds on more expensive bikes too. For 200 dollars you can't loose. I've since stripped the bike and the fetish is sitting in my basement. too big for me. It handles great, and I'm sure you'd be happy with it. Hopefully you won't have the same problems Yellow did.

Just so you have more options...

Spicer: $275

Tsunami: $235

I have no idea of the quality of these frames or their tubing. Both sites are scant on details, though I'm sure you'd get all the info you want on the Spicer if you emailed.

I wouldn't think the spicer or tsunami are any worse than the fetish, also the fetish doesn't come with a fork.

Yeah, after seeing an ebay listing for one, I decided to check out their website. I still wasn't sure at the time if Fetish cycles was a fake company, created by a bidder to sell bunk frames or what.
my guess is they are real but like NYCBikes, I'll never be buying them.
