This week the NYPD was denied in it's lawsuit against Times-Up! requesting an injunction against cyclists participating in the monthly Critical Mass. In his ruling, the judge brought up some very favorable arguments for both CM participants, and cyclists at large in the NYC area.

Times-up!, the environmental direct action group is celebrating with a very bike-friendly dance party at their space on 49E Houston, between Mott and Mullberry. 9pm.

The proceeds will serve to keep the space on Houston, and help pay for the fees and legal team that have promoted and fought for cyclists rights in the courts. Even if you aren't a supporter of the CM rides, realize that the court ruling has reverberations for future cases involving the most basic of rights--including the right to assemble, free speech, and of course, to ride your bike in the city streets.

YES! it's a 24 page document but I don't know if it's available online. I'll see if there is a PDF version available.

Oh and ,Shants, $3 is good, especially at a hellaciaciously fun gathering like this. I went to some crap-ass bar in the west village the other night and ended up paying $16 for two drinks, and the place was deaaaad.

try this. it's "unpublished" in the legal sense, but it's what you're looking for. I think.

hahahaha - i was thinking the exact same thing. in kansas city, the only way that would be a good deal is if it's a cup and there's a keg.

Hey, It's a fundraiser! The idea is to spend a little extra and support the building.

You can smuggle six packs in your bag, nobody is going to stop you.

$4 for PBR?!? It used to be $1 at the few dives you could find it at!

Good deal on the legal victory, of course.

just read the ruling. interesting. i highly doubt, of course, that this will prevent arrests from occuring. so then, what can be done that will? was this discussed at the meeting on yesterday?

Don't count on it this time. Sorry.

If it's any consolation, there won't be any pabst. It's classy like that

Not doing it for Bill's sake.
No beer sponsor=all cases were paid up front with private funds. If people think $3 is too much for a decent brew, consider the risk incurred by fronting seveal hundred for something like this. Play nice and don't smuggle until the bar runs out.

Feck Yeah! support the only cool bike friendly spot in town. Who takes care of you when you're down? 49 houston!! Let's forget about beer prices and remember the time yo sh** was messed up & you didn't have any money and they sill helped you fix it up. Or when I got out of the emergency room and needed the internet to find doctors who wouldn't charge me $2K to look at me and say "whoa, that's messed up"

Yep, 49 houston is everyone's best friend. I'm drinking every single one of their over priced beers.

la, la , love ya.
