Walz Cycling Caps?

http://www.walzcyclingcaps.com/

She has a lot of hats on ebay, can anyone recommend her hats and/or have any pics of someone wearing one?

I don't have any pics of me wearing one, but I bought one from her on eBay. High quality and she is extremely nice. I am considering buying more from her. The pictures she uses don't do the hats justice IMO.

The lady, Jackie, is very nice and I had a lot of correspondance with her,
but her hats are just weird. I don't know if she's changed the design, but
the hats are huge! I wear a 7 1/8 fitted baseball cap and her hats were
just too "deep." By deep, I mean that they went halfway over my ears.
Also, she embroidered my name on the hat, which was a little weird. Very
nice of her, but sort of weird... If she's changed the design to a more
traditional cycling cap design, then you can't beat the price.

I have a massive head, so this sounds great to me.

How long ago did you buy the hat from her? I got mine in December-ish. I wear a 7 1/8 or 7 1/4 fitted baseball hat depending on other factors. Usually 7 1/4 is perfect for me. No problem with ear everlap for me and no embroidery either.

I got mine pre december, I'm not sure when though. When I
got mine, the hats were still fitted and I suggested to her
that she make them with elastic. I guess she changed the design.
The hats used to be so awkward that I couldn't give them
away. They just ended up in the trash. What still confuses me
is that when I contacted her, she made it seem like she was
hand making these.... But how could someone hand make a hat
and only sell it for $6? She must be getting them wholesale
from somewhere, right?

She musta taken your advice because mine has elastic in the back for a nice snug fit. I have no idea how she can sell them for so cheap because if they are handmade she must only make pennies on each hat. Not really worth it for the seller but a great deal for the buyer. Either way she is still at it so she must be making some $.

crushkilldstroy 02-28-06 02:52 PM

just got a couple of caps from her yesterday. i wear a 7 3/8 and they fit me fine without being too deep or too shallow. i have no idea how she makes money on these things, but whatever.

joy&revolution 02-28-06 03:16 PM

i've got one too and am not too big a fan of t. As mentioned earlier it's just too deep and the bill was too big and floppy. Just my opnion thoough if you have a huge head they may be fine. cheers.

i wear a 7 1/8 hat and i got one from her and it just just so tight. it was like i pulled a sock over my head

I need a lightweight logo-free cap for spring, and the price was right so I gave her a shot. Sounds like the sizing may not be all that consistent, so I guess I'll just wait and see.

drac_vamp 02-28-06 05:58 PM

kucharick is the way to go guys. wool, oldschool, winter cycling caps. either kucharick or kucharik.

linux_author 02-28-06 06:04 PM

- i use a painter's cap from lowes, homeless despot, or sherwin williams... about $0.69 apiece IIRC...

:-)

mattface 02-28-06 06:05 PM

for winter you it's tough to beat a wool jeep cap. six bucks at your local army navy.

Oh, c'mon now. I'm sure I've said something positive once or twice.

But seriously, old man Kucharik is the real deal.

i just got one of her caps not too long ago, i'm thinking about picking up more and screen printing some designs on them cause they tend to fit really well, i'm pleased atleast.

I'm going to get one of the grey wool ones, and maybe a black/white or a black/orange.

like 5-10 mins on a sewing machine, $.50-$1 in material..thin canvas aint that expensive, specially if you buy in a large quantities.. if you can crank out 8/hour, that's like $40 an hour...sewing something simple like a cycling cap isn't that hard. my guess that she is a seamstress or something, and has excellent sewing skills, and access to cheap raw materials....

I have one of her caps. I like it, but no longer wear it beacause cycling caps are lame.

Old swobo wool winter cycling caps are awesome. especially so if you get it for free.
