Post pictures of your fixie

Lets reclaim the picture thread from the rich folk. Post your beater ass bike that is amazing but you're too embarassed to post compared to all the fancy stuff occupying this thread lately. This isn't a statement as much as its a celebration.

Or you could just post a lot in the picture thread and take it back that way...

If people have nice bikes, good for them. If people have craptacular bikes that they love, good for them too. This isn't a competition between high and low zoot.

man up...who the **** cares about your embarassment....keep it to yourself, swallow your dumb ass pride and post your pics!! or dont.

man, i just want people to post their pics whenever and where ever they want. i don't like the pics thread, because sometimes i have to go through 3 pages of commentary to see a bike. it's the a "picture thread"....not the "commentary thread".

maybe a little beside the point, but it bugs the hell out of me.

shankton 03-07-06 06:36 AM

I would post a pic, but my bike is so fugly that camera lenses dissolve when aimed at it.

What he said.

if you're gonna get pissy about comments then stick to the FGG. people want to hear comments on their bikes and want to discuss their bikes and others. deal with it.

wearyourtruth 03-07-06 07:36 AM

someone tried this a few weeks ago but it still ended up being nice bikes... some people's 'beaters" are still $300-500 bikes (or more)

rvabiker 03-07-06 10:35 AM

If you don't like the picture thread suck it up...I don't like the Ebay thread and you don't see me posting all the cool items I see on ebay and craigslist in the regular forum. There's a sticky for a reason and just cause you don't like it isn't reason enough not to use it.

you mean like this one? not a pic of a bike yet...

onetwentyeight 03-07-06 11:05 AM

There was a beater conversion thread a while back, search for it.

drac_vamp 03-07-06 11:21 AM

all words, no bikes.

true, but that's why i'm in favor of individual threads (and also why i DO stick to the FGG for pics)...for a cable connection, sometimes the pages load slowly (even slower on my laptop, and just imagine dial up), and it's aggravating when you just want to see someone's bike and you go through several slowly loading pages of commentary.

with people just posting their own thread, post one is a pic, you can read the commentary if you want, not waiting for pages to load while reading commentary about a bike you have yet to see because of the combination to commentary and pages loading.

i know people want to hear about their bikes, i do. it would just be nice if finding the actual pictures were easier and quicker.

then again, i'm also in favor of de-stickying stuff after 10 or 12 pages and making a new one with the same topic in the interest of making it less of an unwieldly behemoth of a thread.

onetwentyeight 03-07-06 12:37 PM

Not this debate again... Is it that hard to click "last page"?

rvabiker 03-07-06 12:38 PM

+1

Cool, Asterisk.
I just put a set of Sakae cranks, (set up with a 46t QBP beefy engagement ring) on my cheap KHS frame.
It rides as well as any boutique bike. Maybe we should start a thread for mystery bikes only (no advertising).

Sorry for the crappy pic. Old dig camera.
Here is mine with a fresh coat of paint.

humancongereel 03-07-06 12:55 PM

nice, sinfield. for a second i thought i saw you yesterday on alder downtown. but no...i'll keep my eyes open...;)

i don't want to debate the pics thread...it annoys me, even as much as i understand why there's discussion about bikes on a bike discussion forum...but it annoys me, i gave up and i stick to FGG and velospace, the end.
