oh MAN do I love Lightning Bolt

Surferbruce 03-14-06 10:22 PM

cool. thanks.
aside from the junkie shooting up(i just don't need to see it) it looks interesting, screening here in l.a. is the 16th.

rvabiker 03-14-06 10:25 PM

I hear the trailer is better than the movie. The junkie is the director (who is trying to get in Black Label) and most of it is about him. But I haven't seen it, thats just what I heard.

moki 03-14-06 11:23 PM

Best... trailer...ever....

**** I'm a ******

stachemaster 03-15-06 01:42 AM

sorry but what does this have to do with single speed/fixed gear?

there is an alt bike culture forum.

koyman 03-15-06 01:45 AM

the part with teh heroin is my favorint part. yeah, when you feel that needl prik the skin... ridding bikes lik that is teh best, 'specialey if you're awsome

muftek 03-15-06 02:06 AM

this looks dumb and pretty contrived.
black label already exists, its a skate company.
go watch the "blackout" video for some real awesome.

bigbikerbrian 03-15-06 02:31 AM

meh.
im sure the black label kids are cool, but i dont know about the whole idea of a movie about them and their 'non-mtv' lifestyle. does anyone here know anything more than this trailer about the group?

Fugazi Dave 03-15-06 03:02 AM

They're the ones behind Bike Kill. Very eclectic group, though how faithful this 'documentary' is to their general being I couldn't say. I'd be interested to see it, at least, even if it isn't very good. I'm always up for another media artifact of the culture.

bigbikerbrian 03-15-06 03:10 AM

dude, bike kill looks tight! trailer i watched makes it look way different than that black label trailer does. way better, i should add.

ink1373 03-15-06 08:28 AM

this makes me miss minneapolis even more. i recognize a handful of those kids.

and their lifestyle is anything BUT contrived. they're some of the most geniune people you'll ever meet, for better or for worse. i have a lot of respect for some of them.

rvabiker 03-15-06 08:59 AM

The movie is less about them and more about heroin guy who wants to get in to the group.

turd 03-15-06 09:24 AM

i think this was posted in the 'Video' thread

wangster 03-15-06 09:33 AM

anyone that tries to get into black label won't... They are cool guys and throws a mean party.

TURD!!! are ya back from sunnyland?

stachemaster 03-15-06 09:35 AM

Correct!

The movie is about tony's addiction, and him acting like an *******. the trailer makes it seem like its about bike activism in the city, but the feature isnt that way at all. However, filming events for years led to tons of amazing bike footage.

If you can watch the movie, and somehow shut off your brain for the tony segments, you will end with an excellent visual history of black label and chunk events in nyc, as well as minneapolis, and travels to amsterdam.

dont worry about the movie, just make sure to get down to bike kill or a chunk event. or sooner, the cutthroats party april 1st in richmond.

if you want to see some pictures, check flickr or tod seelie's photos of the event - everydayilive.com/every day i live

and shouldnt this be moved to the alt bike culture thread - or the video thread in this forum

wangster 03-15-06 10:06 AM

yo stachemaster! when't the next BL or chunk party? bike wars?

Kiecker 03-15-06 10:31 AM
