does anyone on here actually realize that half link chains are unidirectional?

they're not made for back pressure, since their design on forward torque pulls the plates together, while back pressure pulls them apart.


if anyone has really really bad chain problems, take it from a BMX head, and get either a wipperman pro, or a kink chain.

ive seen it in the movies once (ok more than once)...simply jam your pump in your spokes and you will stop.

There is always the safest brakeless bmx/ted shred stop...jam your foot in the rear stays. In my opinion safer than the front crown and better on the collateral than the pump in the spokes.

How on earth would a chain know which direction it is being pulled from? Tension doesn't have a direction.

I forsee a market for microprocessor-controlled chains that have servo feedback to sense impending derailment and adjust itself. Also, "smart pins" that remain intact if installed properly, or turn to dust if not, upon first tension.
