elbow grease

dolface 03-23-06 08:23 PM

i have the exact same setup, and i just run the front strap around the pedal, it was too much hassle to get it through the slots.

it works fine.

onetwentyeight 03-23-06 08:43 PM

use the plyers to squish the straps into a U shape
makes it a little easier. took me about an hour and a half to get my errebi sprints in. drove me nuts.

is it bad design... or brilliant design? either way, i've almost thrown the pedal against the wall a few times. i wish i had some strong tweezers. am i slurrrring my words?

jyossarian 03-23-06 08:58 PM

Lift some weights. Then try again.

spider-man 03-23-06 09:03 PM

I would try something like squeezing the strap in a ziptie or three to compress it.

didn't work

dolface 03-23-06 09:19 PM

i left out some parts; i got one strap through the slots (needle-nose pliers and elbow-grease) but it did a number on the split-leather finish on my straps, and made 'em a pita to adjust, so i took it back out,

you skinny hipsters, you have to bulk up.

Are we still talking about straps here? ;) I had the same trouble with my EAI single straps and MKS sylvan's. One of my straps is wrinkled, and the other looks fine, after I figured out the proper amount of Doc Marten's shoe polish and elbow grease. No wonder why people go clipless....

baxtefer 03-24-06 02:21 AM

eggbeaters

LóFarkas 03-24-06 05:27 AM

I'd file that b*tch to accept the strap. But then I just like to file things.

Why do people make those slots so tight? Or is a leather strap that much thicker than nylon?

abeyance 03-24-06 10:07 AM

Try threading the internal cable routing on a pair of integralters. I tried for 4 hours before giving up and bringing it to the LBS

Leif-fire-eater 03-24-06 10:12 AM

I file the slots on my pedal a little bit. Widened it just a little and it worked with some swearing and scotch.
