Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

Don walker question. . .

why are you gonna display the bike listed on the FGG in an eating establishment?? seems like a waste of a great looking, functional machine. . . .

if by "get nasty" you mean dance naked, well, there's potential for that at any time, any thread.

Bikes: late 80's Pinarello Track, 1988 Proteus Yamaguchi road, 1970's Nishiki fg conversion (stolen and returned!)

It looks like an IRO. Or a Pake.

likely. Still, i've never known an iro or pake to fall apart. And the welding still doesn't save it from looking like everything else.

I like those knurled Shimano headsets. Too bad they stopped making the wrenches...

Except for the fastback stays, the fork, the track ends, the seatpost clamp, the fact that it's fillet brazed rather than TIG'ed, and the actual, like, geometry. The only thing that bike has in common with an IRO or a pake is the fact that it's a black track bike. Jimeny!

You don't need it. Just use one of these.

As for the point of this thread....if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say it at all.
