95 mm front fork....
we're hopefully putting a new wheelset on my girlfriend's bike in a bit. tonight i had the bright idea to put my front wheel on her bike and see if the brake would reach a 700c wheel (switching from 27"). well...it wouldn't go down all the way. the axle might be just slightly wide. but i also measured the front fork and the hub on the front wheel...95mm for both. i thought it was weird...is this common? what to do to fix it? cold setting a la sheldon brown? file down the axle (on her wheel) and spread the fork? (gasp) new fork? i mean...it's 5mm. obviously, we'll have to fiddle around some...but what do you guys think?
edit: i don't know if this is up already (either the computer on this end is being a "c*(khorse" (thanks, sloppy robot)...but i just re-measured after realizing you don't measure center to center.95 mm, not 105 like i put in there earlier. if those posted. damn c***horses.
