Is this site much slower since the move?
Is it just me or has this site just become increadibly slow to load since they moved servers last weekend?
It takes forever to connect and load the page. In fact the server timed out when I was trying to post this. Here it goes again.

Well, its likely not their fault that they haves slow internet connections. As a person who manages lot of bandwidth off of my computer, I recognize that this site has always been kindof bad for slower connections. Its not just the fact that the connection is slower; the server-side of bikeforums doesn't seem to handle slower connections very well. Packets are lost, connections dropped, etc.
Its okay really, I just want to point out that lots of other boards manage this a lot better... however, that would take loads of admin hours, and this board doesn't have that kind of userbase.

I have longer wait times for the page to load although it's only a matter of a second or two. Still, it is notably slower.

I've got highspeed internet (Roadrunner cable), it just seems to be highspeed on every site but this one. So I'm thinking it has to do with the move, not my connection, since everything else on the internet loads just fine.
Probably a good thing, really I need to do some work.

If only the slower loading speed led to me getting more work done.
For me, it leads to even less work getting done because I actually sit and wait for it to load.

For me, it seems to have got quicker. It still takes an agonizing 5-10 seconds to load the first page (SSFG from my favourites folder), but it looks like I can navigate between threads quicker. I have 1,5MB broadband which should be enough for instant loading of a page like this (text only). Well, now at least threads do load instantly.

yea it's been pretty excruciating lately. more often than not pages time out and when they do load they take a really long time. it's not my connection either, i'm on a ds3 at work, and all other sites load fine, just not this one.

yeah, how much slower depends on which computer, but damn. it's gotten very noticeably slower. things keep timing out, blah blah blah...i can get up and do something else while the main page and each thread loads, and come back and it'll be finishing up. sort of like when i used to have dial up.

Give Joe, Koffee, Maelstrom, and the rest (here on Joe Gardners' Island ) some more time. I have a broadband connection and at first I could not even get on. After 2 days I could get to the first screen. Another day to an individual forum. Two more days to my first post that did not timeout. Today I got three posts in before it started to crawl. I see it as slow but steady improvement. I am no expert, I even still use DOS for games, so I am willing to cut BF some slack.

yeah, i'm sure some bugs have to be worked out. but the dude asked if things were much slower, and i think they are. but they're also much better now than they were for me earlier. site traffic issues, maybe?
