i think the best bike i've ever ridden is my friend's groundup cyclocross bike:
it fits me perfectly and handles and sprints amazingly.... plus record 10 never hurt no one no how!
i've also ridden a full suspension 29" willets that owned earth... oh, and this sweet ti blacksheep hardtail single speed. amazing almost intuitive bikes. plus, all three were built in the great rectangle!!

a corima
took it for a few laps of the local velo.
sweet ride, obviously. I was so nervous though. didn't want to crash. that thing's worth more than everything I own.

Hmm. The most memorable bike I've ever ridden was a Klein Quantum, full Ultegra, pre-Trek buyout. Klein took all the good things about aluminum (stiffness, lightness) and none of the bad things (early Cannondale over-stiffness, crap looking welds.)
That was the bike that really got me into road riding. I still pine for one.

i'll never forget my first bike.
we were poor so things like bikes didn't come easy.
for my 10th birthday my uncle and aunt bought me a barbie bicycle w/training wheels
it had streamers. and it was more white than pink (i went through a pink refusal stage from 7-16)
it had big white wheels and barbie on the front. i wasn't much of a girly girl growing up but when it came to barbie's they were like my children - all always looking nice and such.
i had it until september (my bday is in july) when i got off the school bus and saw my brother riding it around the driveway while louie tried to hit him with rocks and a baseball bat. that was the end of my bike.
later on that year he got his own bike which he threw in the river to see if he could get his out faster than louie's. alex's bike never came back.
at that point my parents vowed neither of us would be allowed to have bikes anymore because alex would break them.
i didn't get another bike until a little under a year ago as a graduation present.

I had a robinson BMX bike when I was about 13. I loved that thing. Light, comfortable to ride, handled really nice. Unfortunately, at 6'1", bmx bikes aren't all that comfortable anymore.

Colnago C50. They decidedly come with a stigma from the typical owner but damn, they have a fantastic ride.

My lady friend's birthday present of a late 602 Huffy Sun Country three-speed. In full tuxedo. To the Bike Church. To help my friend build his wheelset. Before the formal dance.
