Heard about the all chrome GanWell Pro's?

Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

Heard about the all chrome GanWell Pro's?

Well, EuroAsia has got a new surprise in the wings. They've ordered a bunch of GanWell Pro keirin frames in various sizes, finished completely in chrome with goldplate details. They're going like hotcakes, so if you want one, you'd better grab fast.

Also, they are apparently getting a broad range of alloy Nitto products (track stems, track bars, and both seat posts) in the old gold anodized version. The gold stuff didn't sell worth a hoot, but when EAI finally remaindered it at low prices, it started taking off. Anyway, now you can get a solid chrome NJS frame and get pretty much the entire component set in gold to match.

And the gold Suzue ProMax hubs will be available this next month. They're coming in both loose-bearing NJS and the sealed bearing versions, both double-fixed. Pricey.

They aren't on the EAI web site yet. I haven't heard that they have actually landed in the US yet. EAI doesn't talk to consumers like us, so you have to go through a shop. Four I'd highly recommend that can help with this are

Dean or Jen at Bike Central in Portland, OR (503-227-4439)
John Dacey at Business Cycles in Miami, FL (305-273-4440)
Marcus at Yojimbo's in Chicago (312-587-0878)
Travis at Freewheeling on Hayes in SF (415-752-9195)

An all chrome Ganwell Pro doesn't seem gaudy to me.

I saw a lugged-steel fixed gear bike made by one of the instructors at United Bicycle Institute in Ashland, Oregon.
He or she had the frame and fork plated in nickel.
Absolutely beautiful.

Do Ganwells enjoy any popularity in Japan and with Keirin racers? The fact that they're comissioned by a US distribution company seems a bit suspect.

edit: Goooooooooooldfiiiiinger!

EAI has yet to post any info/pictures on their website. The gold Suzue and Nitto stuff is listed, but no pictures of that stuff either.

[insert humorous GIS image of something excessively bling-y here]
