NJS roadie parts?

Since there are all these NJS experts in this forum::)

The OEM Sunshine hubs on this 70's Kabuki road bike I have converted are stamped NJS.
The hubs are high flange and have quick releases, plus the rear hub is for a "10" speed thread on free wheel. Were there a road race series in conjunction with the Keirin racing that we all hear about today?

Interesting -- I was just examining an old Peugeot (really a Sakae) road crankset which appeared to be stamped NJS. It was a road double -- really no chance it was made for the track, as far as I know. I wouldn't mind seeing a comprehensive list of NJS parts somewhere.

are you sure it isnt the jis stamp?

ImOnCrank 04-01-06 02:52 PM

Probably was the JIS stamp like trons said. Looks like almost all old Japanese components had the stamp.

I just pulled some old sugino cranks out and it's a similar stamp, but it is definitely JIS.
