Toe clip sizing
When I re-build the Bassofixie, I think I'm going to have clips and straps on it just so I can have a little more versatility between my two bikes. I'm looking at toe clips on the EAI site, now, and it strikes me that I have no idea how the sizes are determined. What size toe clip should someone with size 9 shoes be using?

My feet are the same size and I use mediums.

Size 9 here too. I got MKS medium toe clips on my Makino. I also have MKS large on my beater but I think medium is better.

Cool. Thanks for the help!

i think it all depends on how much of your foot you want in the clips. my fav so far have been large (cinelli though) clips because it felt nice to have my foot really secure in the clip.
oops. forgot to mention that i wear a size 9 as well. |
I agree with the mediums for a size 9 shoe. I am a size 10 and have always bought large, but i could still get away with mediums. If you go too big, the steel loop on the clip where the strap threads through starts to dig into the top of your foot.
Or, you could try out PowerGrips. They're pretty good, and they give you even more versatility in terms of riding with different shoes. |
I'm a size 10 and my LBS recommended the MKS in large, they feel perfect for me.
|
I'm an 11, larges are perfect for me.
|
also depends on how long your pedal body is-- since the clips just bolt on the front, y'know. my mks gr-9s are a little longer than my sylvan tracks. mks xl ("LL") clips seem a little long on the gr-9s but perfect with the sylvans. I've got size 11.5 feets.

my shoe size is 9-10, but I like the MKS large so that all shoes fit, plus they work well with bike shoes.
