foul vibes
this internet machine has been foul lately. i've reflected, and picked out a few truths i've experienced:
1 - there's nothing wrong with your bianchi pista. for proof, see eddie brannan's pista--there are a bunch of pictures in the photo sticky a page or two back. it's pretty, and he's not a hipster, he's just english, okay?
2 - ingersol, just chill, aight?
3 - conversations about sexism belong within actual communities, not message boards.
4 - sexist ****, however, still doesn't belong, and that includes making women and queers feel uncomfortable via systematic objectification and alienation.
4a - for productive conversations about this topic, get a reading group filled with people who want to figure out how they've been programed by a wack world, and read some bell hooks and judith butler and foucault and **** like that. don't just be reactionary and tell people to shut up when they voice their discomfort.
5 - my boredom at work, of late, has led to my over-engagement in this board.
6 - i don't really know anybody on this board, though i've met a slim few. a proposition: if we meet, let's just be cool and buy each other beer and **** like that. there's plenty of time for us to hate on each other after we meet each other, if we do. a board full of acrimony is pretty worthless. not even a good waste of time while i'm at work...
7 - there's still a cool amount of mutual aid going around, because of this board. let's keep it that way. rides to alleycats, places to crash, taking visitors out to bars, meeting up on rides--that's a great way for people to get to know each other. let's try and treat people on this board as if they were actual people, not just a screen name, an avatar, or a link to their steel on velospace or fgg. let's let some respect fly, and for g-d's sake let that include respecting people when they feel uncomfortable with gendered/sexualized content.
8 - damn yall. it's just a message board. i'm wasting the last few minutes of my birthday insobriety typing this. i'm gonna go finish the bottle of wine and go to bed.

I agree, queerpunk, only if you apologize for starting the Fabian thread.
I trace the spike in hostility to that punkd jib-jab. Bad karma.

+1, god damn, boring stupid desk job.
One good thing I can say about all the agitation this stupid message board has been causing me is that it made me need to blow off all that negative energy with several laps around the park after work.
