nice patch for fg...
http://www.microcosmpublishing.com/c.../patches/1297/
cuz the pedal power don't stop...and when you're first on a fixed gear, that can be surprising. heh. i might sew that to my cap, but the curves may present a problem. i'm not really sure. |
I have a patch of their logo that I used to make a pocket on a tool bag. It's pretty rad.
|
good idea. there're a lot of patches at a couple shops around here...i'll look for a big one to make pockets with.
|
most of those patches are trite garbage.
|
meh, i guess they're not manifestoes, but it's a patch...can't fit much on there, anyway.

microcosm has excellent zines, they press their shirts on the soft shirts (and the quality is A+) but their patch quality is crap. The fact that they have unique shirts also rocks. I met this guy who is biking from Texas to Alaska this summer and it's all because I said "Hey, I have that shirt too!"
I have a big heart-in-a-chainring patch on the back leg of a pair of shorts I made and the quality is terrible. It's thick but it falls apart fast. I'm sure if you folded the ends under when you sewed it would stop the fraying. But if you let it fray it FRAYS. Anywho, this thread should be more about Cristy because for years I've loved her artwork. |
true about the patch fraying. i trimmed two edges down (stupidly), but the other two were already trimmed too much to fold them under, anyhow. i hate that about patches. though i have a sweatshirt that's held up for quite some time with un-folded johnny cash and slayer patches.
|
well the patch I got frayed more than I was used to.
I mean I've been listening to punk since '98, so I've dealt with a volume of patches. the cloth used was shabby too. But from a bunch of freegan crusties what can you expect? (no offense to freegans or crusties, I mean I'd be putting myself down too!) |
ha ha...i know what you mean, though.
|
is the link working for yall, cause i havent been able to get onto microcosm in a long time
|

haha yeah, cristy (c road) is a friend of mine and is awesome if not a bit insane. she just published an novel too that folks should check out and im sure you can get through microcosm. i think they published it. they also published my friend kyle's book that cristy did the cover for called "making stuff and doing things"
|
ha ha. i love titles like that. i've been slowly working on chapters for a book called "things i hate". the point isn't so much that anyone cares what i hate, but that i can present the things i hate in a delightfuly curmudgeonly way.
anyway, what's the title of her novel? |
