There, I said it. |
i definitely was attracted to fixed gear because of the simplicity, so for me i wouldnt do it. but i am not you. who has a better understanding of what is cool than you? the answer is already within ;-)

Basically, anything that provides comfort, safety or practicality is uncool.
|
Although I use one, you left out brake lever.
|
Seek not outward justification?
|
I'm contemplating putting clip-ons on my beat-up conversion, slapping the front brake back on it, and using it for the Oklahoma summer duathlon series. Guess that makes me uncool.
A bike and the stuff you put on it is only as cool/uncool as you give it credit for being. Nothing else matters. |
i just got a computer for my birfday, and i love it. i also love the simplicity of the fixed gear but i sorta gave up and got a cage and soon a brake. but anyway yea i would say get a computer, although i have trouble keeping my eyes on the road now

How many of y'all got a mirror mounted on your fixed gear?
I do. Al |
Fixed gears are as uncool as I felt when I missed the Rip Offs play Chicago!
|
I got a bell, and front/rear reflectors, but not the required reflective tape on the chainstays...I'll rock any accesory, I don't give a damn, if it makes me laugh even once I'll buy it...I've never had streamers on a grownup bike...but I ain't never been cool so I'm free to what I want harhar

Just got back from the first ride with a set of aerobars (training up for a tri this summer). Definately nice to have.

So you ARE doing the a tri fixie. I'm doing one in Dunedin, Fl, in a couple months. The swim should be interested. I'm like the guy from the old SNL skit about male synchronized swimming..."I'm not a strong swimmer". |

I do. Al http://www.pbase.com/billd9/image/55834507.jpg Since that was taken, I have installed a wireless computer. Probably uncool but I like it.... lets me know what kind of a day the dogs are having. Dogbait |
