superbe pro pedal question

anyone know what the two little knurled knobs on the underside of superbe pro pedals are for?

anyone? bueller?

Stop trying to trick us. Its pretty obvious you photoshopped those in.

I might be wrong but are they to hold the strap locked in

Pawls 04-23-06 08:54 AM

how?

jrowe 04-23-06 08:55 AM

Do they come out? If so, maybe they're grease ports.

dolface 04-23-06 08:58 AM

they're not for toe-straps (the pedal cages have eyelets for that) and i can't get them out (I'm also not trying very hard 'cause i don't want to mess them up).

Rikardi151 04-23-06 09:00 AM

do they turn at all in either direction?

nope

Rithem got some of these recently, but I don't remember seeing the little knobs. I mean they're kinda weird, right? I'd wrap them with a bit of shop rag, then try really hard with a pair of pliers.

edit--but I've ruined stuck parts by trying too hard.

I don't have these on my superbe pros, maybe they're a mod (or I don't have superbe pro bodies)?

Tomity 04-23-06 09:14 AM

It's MTB models

maybe to serve like BMX pedal pegs: if the platform flips over while in use, the pegs may prevent the foot from slipping off the underside of the platform

Wish I had those on my Superbe's.

They're probably XC Pro pedals with Superbe Pro cages.

11.4 04-23-06 02:21 PM

Yes, Sashae is correct. Someone bought some Superbe Pro track cages and mounted them on some Superbe Pro XC pedals. The inside frame is the same for track, road, and XC, with one exception -- the XC offers a couple grease ports similar to the ones you'll find on Superbe Pro XC hubs. You don't need to do anything with them, and trying to lubricate the pedals through them is a mediocre approach at best. Just ignore them and get on with life.
