Saddle Question for GF
 

I'm looking for a new seat for my lady, but we don't know anything about female-specific saddles. She wants something that's racing-thin (a low profile), comfy enough for long(ish) rides, and well-priced. She has a San Marco Profil right now, and she thinks it's too bulky. So, help me help her?

my ex girlfriend had some problems with her original saddle. i think it was some stock Bianchi thing. it got so bad that she couldnt even ride any more without feeling like she just got back from a duke larcrosse party.

if i remember corectly, she ended up getting a mid-range Terry saddle and fell in love with it. she kind of had wider hips and this saddle worked the best for her. i rode it a couple of times and found it too be pretty nice as well. ive never ridden another girls saddle, but the terry was real nice.

id check out nashbar. i think they have some.

it's not narrow at all but my girlfriend loves the wtb speed-she.

seats really do seem to be different for guys/girls...

If she's into it, there's also the Brooks Finesse (like the Swift), Professional S (WSD) and B-17 S (WSD).

i love that both questioner and respondants so far are all male. ha.

i like wider saddles. women have hipbones that are spread more widely, so it makes sense. eh?

screw looks, get comfy. i have these on my bikes...
- terry ti butterfly
- specialized dolce ti
- wtb speed she ti

all are wide, have a little padding, are light, are ti. i like them all, probably i like the dolce best.

if the visual thing is worth hurting her important bits over, terry makes some that aren't complete @unt busters, but good luck.

i've given up on nice looking saddles. i will attach a sofa on my seatpost if it means comfort.

Honestly though, i think geometry has alot to do with it. A saddle that is comfortable on a road bike can be a total pain on a track bike.

my girlfriend rides a selle italia ladies turbo and is into it. it's pretty awesome.

was she riding a road frame/conversion? cause geometry+ body positioning makes a huge difference.

Her bike is not a track frame, but her body positioning is pretty racey.
We checked out Specialized/Terry/WTB on Nashbar and other retailers online, and we're gonna check out some in shops this week. It sounds like the Ladies' Turbo is a controversial one, but I'll get her to check it out, too (they're purrty). Thanks to everyone, especially Chimbly, Kisha, and Terror. Any other suggestions? What do you look for in a ladies' saddle?

I've tried all sort of men's saddles, even some with cutouts, looking for something narrow and low-profile. Finally, my LBS got me to try the Specialized Jett 130mm (narrowest of three sizes). I've never been so pain-free on a bike. It's a keeper for me.

My wife rides the Selle Italia Gel Flow and has never complained about pain. If it was uncomfortable, believe me, I'd hear about it!
