Sugino RD --> 75 chainline problems?
Was about to swap over a set of Sugino 75's to my mostly stock pista cause the flexy stock cranks are buggin me. If all I do is spin on a 1/8" cog, add a 1/8" chain and slap on the 75's should my chainline be ballpark? I'd like to keep the stock BB as it still works fine. Thanks.

No.
The stock Pista has a 103mm BB. The 75's require a 109mm BB. The options for this are the matching 75 BB, the older Dura Ace track BB or Hatta Swan. All are pricey. Most people however, get by with a Shimano 107 BB, UN53/72. It'll be just fine. |
Check your BB. Don't most pistas have ISIS bbs? My girlfriends 03 has an ISIS and the 06s are listed as having a "Truvativ Power Spline cartridge" which you can't run a 75 on.
You'll need a taper style BB to run Sugino 75s, so will prob. have to swap the BB as well. |
sugino rd is square taper!

You're right, missed the title as I was blinkered by the phrase "mostly stock pista".
The 75s are a very nice upgrade from the RDs. |

The Phil 110 should work -- or at least, so I've heard. You can do a search on all these issues. The search is your friend.
