first ride off being crippled.
sorry for the fairly unnecessary post, but i'm
seriously stoked. i just rode on the street for the first
time since i broke my leg/ankle/foot back in late november.
i've been riding on my rollers for the last three weeks and this morning
my doctor said my x-rays looked good enough for me to ride on the street, albeit lightly.
i just took a spin around the neighborhood for a half hour or so and it felt nothing short
of amazing. i've already called everyone i know here in houston and have tried to schedule
a go get dinner ride for later today. this rules. i knew i was fixing my bike up everyday
for five months for a reason.

oh i am. i steered clear of downtown or any other
major roads. i'm not totally comfortable skidding real
hardcore right now so i'm not hitting places that have the potential
to necessitate riding like that.
i've been out of comission quite a few times before, but this has been
the longest by a month and a half. it just feels awesome to spin my legs
AND get some real wind in my face. my rollers were driving me crazy.

I have a project frame that is a perfect example of that. Generic bianchi cromoly frame, except I've removed all the paint, and I'm in the process of sanding it to a near-mirror finish, before some careful clearcoating. Most work done on cheapest frame, ever.

see, i should have just built up a single speed
mountain bike or something, but no...
i had to build new wheels, overhaul my bike every few weeks,
steel wool every bit of rust, etc.
i was going crazy.
