There are many other cheaper alternatives, but I (and many on here) swear by the MKS ones.

Locks, blinkies are all good. But the best one to me is also the ugliest. Primal wear arm warmers, the ones with the tattoo pattern. They are ugly, but they catch peoples eyes. From that I'm hoping they make me more seen by drivers.

Gore-tex boot/shoe liners. Put a wool sock inside the liner and had warm, dry feet all winter long. And if my feet are warm and dry I am a happy man, even in the worst weather.

One of those park tools 3-way allen wrenches. Much better torque than a multitool and lets me take apart 85% of my bike in under 30 seconds (bigs up to PW allen head axel bolts)

futon frame disassembled and used as a bike rack in my basement. fits 5 bikes easily, and makes me feel good for recycling.

"snyder" style retractable chain key ring... $9 at ACE, clips on my bag, never have to fumble with keys when locking up.

Winner: orange Campy cycling cap... $5 used from my LBS, and the *only* cap I've ever found to fit my large head.

Runner up: blue coolmax skull cap. Looks goofy (see avatar), but keeps the sweat outta my eyes on hot days and my noggin comfy on cool days.

Second runner up: IC Berlin glasses. Light, stylin', indestructible, don't slide when sweaty.

There are several cool things, but I would have to agree with some previous posters that Eggbeaters introduced the most fundamental and greatly appreciated improvement to my riding experience.
