ortlieb bag and fancy zippers

I was looking at an ortlieb bag today, and it had a weird zipper which was basically impossible to move. I looked it up on the internerd, and it seems to be called a tizip zipper. Has anyone used one of these? It claims to need lubrication... If one were to lube it up, would it work without me feeling like I am going to rip the bag apart? Is there anything special about the ortlieb tizip lube, or will a commonly available oil work fine?
does anyone know anything about ortlieb bags that is particularly worth thinking about? I know they are typically well-regarded, and waterproof/waterproof-ish... I'm thinking more like "they're cut poorly and slide all over the place," or "the rubbery stuff that they're made of gives people rashes," or something like that... things you would not find out until after using it for a bit.

thanks a bunch...

The Ortlieb's I've seen and the one I own are all roll-tops. The bags are waterproof. Azs for the zipper -- that might be a Japanese only version perhaps or a newer version? I assume the bag might be submersible in water -- I've seen some bags from Patagonia and The North Face that have tight waterproof zippers like that and I wouldn't be surprised if that was the case.

As for the Ortlieb's performance, I wrote some about it: https://www.bikeforums.net/showpost.p...8&postcount=23

Weird. Laminated zips that TNF, paty, and Arc. use work without any lube as far as I know. Unless this is a super brand new design and I have yet to see it.

My friend recently got one of the new bags with that zipper...it does need a little lube like some light oil, and works great after! Go for it.

I'm going to sneak a bottle of oil into the sports store, lube it up, and see how it works... possibly buy it. thanks for the responses!
