sloping top tubes

been alot of discussion about this lately, I am looking for a frame with a sloping top tube (the kind everyone hates) similar to the Redline 9-2-5

not track-ish, and not to cycle cross, I am looking for a good road bike that is a SS/fixed gear, I know there a a few "off the shelf" ones out there

Giant Bowery (kinda ugly)
on one pompino
redline

but I am looking for some other options, I have been surfing around a bit, did the whole search thing, but thought I would throw it out there to the masses to see what kinda frames you all suggest.

I actually have a 58cm Soma Rush that I am looking to sell/trade for the above frame, just lookin for something a little less "track" and a little more road, considering I never ride track!

Specialized Langster... wait, what don't you like about your Soma Rush? Are you looking for gears/derailleurs?

genericbikedude 05-02-06 12:58 PM

rush has sharpish geometry, like 74/74 or something. iro is about 73/73 or so. maybe kogswell?

EDIT: I don't ride track, and I dig track geometry...

Specialized Langster. Try to get one used, it will be a lot less.

How dare you bring logic of this type on BFSSFG?
for shame.

I know it's sad, actually surprised I didn't get a bit more flamed due to the fact that there were several similar posts and it goes against so many of the cardinal rules of this forum to ride more "road" bike with one gear!

I don't hate the soma, I just am looking for something a bit more slack, it all started because I jumped on my buddys Giant the other day (geared) and realized how comfy it was compared to what I am riding!

visitordesign 05-02-06 05:54 PM

my kogswell is slack, but it still responds quick and rides fast. the top tube doesn't slope though. is that an absolute pre-requisite?

iro jamie roy. had mine for 8 months and its been great....

no, not at all.

I am toying with the idea of just converting an old Giant OCR3

if you want a roadbike with a fixed hub, why not put a fixed hub on a roadbike...
