specialized allez track frame
anyone ever seen one? i didn't get a really good look, it was locked up outside of not ray's pizza on fulton (brooklyn) yesterday afternoon. red frame, black half tape on track drops...i didn't know that specialized made a track frame other than the langster, this one looked nice. anyone know anything about them?
More than likely was built by Konno in the early 80s, as Specialized farmed out a great deal of their steel Allez production to Japan.
yeah, it looked pretty nice. lugged, etc. i did a google search and came up empty.
they're REALLY nice frames, see sashae's comment
Steal it! I mean...any pics of one? Never seen an Allez track frame, but
the road frames from that era are mighty nice. |
There was a red one on eBay a few months back...definitely a Konno/Sanrensho built one, all built up with Campy...and it went for something stupid like $600.
edit: proof! |
not ray's is a few doors down from 666 laundromat, so be careful when you're snooping around.

Some of the Allez bikes were made by Yoshi Konno/3Rensho, but a lot more of them were made by Miyata. I'm not sure if there's a way to tell.

Raygunner had one for a while I believe. The one from eBay.
the cl one for $150? what a score
I inquired about that one a while ago. Larry said it would be verrry pricey because of the rarity.
$150... WTF? |
Bill Ron has a Specialized track, unfortunately it is not for sale.
nice, i used to have a newer allez road bike...it's not bad, i'd def ride it again if i wanted another road bike (which...y'know...someday). this bike looks nice. indeed.
the fork looks identical to the cannondale fork thats been claimed by some to be made by san rensho.. but also claimed thats bulsh by others..
whoever made it that bike is tits.. im a sucker for that era specialized |
saw that same bike locked up on 34th street a few months back. i stood there for like 5 minutes admiring.

$150... WTF? Thanks for the inquiry and interest in the SanRensho/ Specialized That SanRensho is appraised at $1,900. It's the only one we have ever seen or know of. There are some SanRensho frames out there but not under the Specialized badge I would rather have a custom... |

the one on craigslist was complete for 150.
Yeah, Larry doesn't really want to sell his bikes. He's more of a collector than a sales guy...
