Chicago: Sitting in drinking on Friday night...

So who's racing tomorrow? I'm on the fence right now, leaning toward no. Spent all day today getting ready for our moving sale, my girlfriend and I are leaving on our year-long U.S. bike tour at the end of next week. Sold the TV today so I can't even sit around and zone out.

Anyone who wants to loot my parts box should come over this weekend because it all needs to go. Also anyone who wants to hang out, give me a call because it may be the last time in a while.

In the mean time I'll keep crackin' these bottles of home brew cider...

I'll try to come by tomorrow, 1-ish, before the race, to see what kind of swag you've got. I think your trek is extremely awesome. I'll read your blog.

you ohio guys seem pretty straight-up. i really wish we were going there first, rather than west, because you're the third person who's extended an invitation like that. it'll probably be some time next year that we roll through town, but i will cetainly call you up.

now wanna hear some completely ****ty news?

last night andrea got HIT BY A CAR. she's still ok to go on the ride, but the driver was a complete maniac who left the scene of the accident, lied to the police about her insurance info and has probably stuck us with thousands in medical bills. i have had a seriously f-ed up day. i feel like buying a lottery ticket because i'm about due for some good luck.

Thanks a lot guys. There's nothing we can do but wait right now- she has some loose and broken teeth but no other injuries. The dentist is making a final evaluation tomorrow before doing the work. The bad parts are:

1) No one has insurance so we are paying for this out of pocket and it will be a several thousand dollar procedure.

2) We are planning to begin the tour on Saturday and the work will take at least two visits. That means taking a train back to Chicago in a week or two to finish the crowns.

So basicly it has been a rough couple days and we are hoping the dentist will give a better evaluation tomorrow than she did on Saturday.

Ira - just saw the post and that's terrible for something like that
to happen now. If you guys need me or me & my car you have my
cell phone # and that counts for during your trip too.
