Park's BK-2 kit would have everything you might need, but you can also acquire tools piecemeal as you need 'em...

Greenfish offers 15 percent off all Park Tools (i don't work for 'em, just a happy customer)...

but i thought the only tool SS/fixie riders needed was a 15mm wrench/bottleopener?

:-)

i have a crank bros multi-tool i love the **** out of. it was a gift, so i wish i knew more about it. other than that...a wrench and pliers....long-handled screwdrivers for more leverage when you're working at home...a chain tool apart from the one on the multi-tool...

crank puller, headset press, truing stand, more of that sort of specialized stuff...

basic tools will totally get you by, though, i have nothing fancy, and i'm okay for most things.

i threw together a list of tools that i want to get over time, so i can do a good deal of my own work without kludging it. here goes:

Park CT-7 chainbreaker
1/8" chainwhip
Hozan Lockring Pliers
Park CCW-5 crank wrench
crank puller
splined bb removal socket, pin spanner
cone wrenches
torque wrench
spoke wrenches
truing stand
headset locknut wrenches
headset race remover
crown race installer
headset press

then again, you'll be able to do routine stuff with a set of metric hex keys, a 15mm combination wrench, needlenose pliers, and tire levers

HAHA, trust me, if it was just me, I'd be set with my multitool and a adjustable wrench, I have pretty much ridden my fixed since the week before monter track and love it, problem is my girls started to get into riding to the bar and stuff, and I got two female roommates moving to replace the two guys I live with now (CF4l and agent4573 on here), so I got a feeling they'll come to good use real quick

An topeak alien multitool is a great starter- it even has a 15mm wrench for those emergency tire changes.

After that, get:
chain whip- cheapo danscomp is fine.
lockring- i like my hozan
quality cable cutter- don't cheap out, you'll regret it.
cone wrenches (13, 14, 15, 16, 18) for adjusting/overauling hubs
bb puller & tool(s) which fits the BBs you use
big adjustable wrench.

With that, you can do 99% of all bike repairs.
