Sorry, another tire thread
700x38-44c slicks or semi-slicks? Good for skidding, punctures and pinch flats? Round profile...
This is what I need. I can fit a really square knobby 700x42 up front, possibly up to a 44. But the profile is too wide for my chainstays, so I can't run a matching one on the back. I'm pretty sure that I could fit at least a 40 on the back if it was round. It's a Fuji touring frame designed for 27" wheels, so it has a lot of space... But I have no idea what to look for in huge tires, especially if they're put through the abuse of a fixed rear wheel. I have a 700x32 Bontrager Hard Case on the rear that seems really solid, and the front is a 700x42 Michelin TransWorld Sprint. I'd like something with the apparent bomb-proofness of the Hard Case, but larger... Anyone point me in the right direction? |
Schwalbe?
Marathon Slick goes up to 700x35c: http://www.schwalbe.com/gbl/en/bicyc...bPoint=On+Tour Marathon Plus ('flatless') goes up to 700x44c: http://www.schwalbe.com/gbl/en/bicyc...bPoint=On+Tour Although I can't attest to how good/bad these tires are... |
