got R.E.Loaded today.

..or at least placed my order for a new bag. A quick and pleasant 10 minute phone call, a credit card, and i was told 4-5 weeks for a spiffy custom sack. of course this probably says they've jumped the shark since i ordered one, but really, good craftsmanship should never go out of style. i'll post pics when i get it.

they can do full custom, but they can't give you their old logo.

Is it just a "cred" thing regarding the logo or is the new one hideous?

Yeah, I ordered one yesterday. Still working out a few details (I'm doing mine via email), but as of right now, it'll be a dark gray courier with a celery flap and orange everything else. Double pockets, Reflector tails, pen slots, and a star on the right side of the bag.

you know you've jumped the shark when you're listed in this month's Bicycling mag's buyer's guide.

I went in on this past Saturday just to figure out what size bag I should get and to maybe get a sneak peak at Seng's photos (which were excellent, by the way). And I sorta accidentally ordered a bag. I'm not sure exactly how it happened, but it probably had to do with finding out that I could put it on my card and not have to pay for it for a while.

I should have a blue, gold, and white deluxe in a little more than a month, hopefully. Though I'm thinking about modifying the order slightly to see if they can pad the back of the bag and maybe include a pocket on the side for a ulock.

I have a "courier" model with the old logo, and an "executive" model with the new logo. Ironically enough, the big one that I have was a birthday present from my mother when I turned 20--she knew thse folks when they were just starting out when she was E.D. of NBW. She got me one in bright safety orange. Thanks ma.

right. even though it was five years ago, she does need a nice present. what would you give a somewhat funky and utility-cycling mother for mothers day? or does this need a new thread?

Good damn question. Maybe next year a custom bag for her. Otherwise any bike related thing that can be upodated or new is always nice.
