what to do, with this interesting to-be fixie frame
i just bought a basso frame with some parts, most of them i dont need and plan to sell to re-coup. but anyway, i thought it was standard basso gap from the early ninties which would have been columbus SL, with horizontal dropouts. not what i got, is not a Gap, it has a strange(but intriguing) columbus MS tubest that is almost triangular in places with vertical dropouts. so im not sure i can do a fixie conversion now, atleast not for a small amount of money. what can i do? build it up as a road, ride it till i have money for another more suitable frame, possibly put horizontal dropouts(i dont want strict track ends on it as it is probably a really nice ride so i dont want to dismiss the option of it being a spare roadie) or hope that a chain will be the right tension on it? any ideas?
thanks |
i have a frame made from ms (see the levante in my sig) and it's an awesome ride!
you can try to find the magic gear, or go with an eno eccentric hub. |
