If you've got a pair of vice-grip pliers and a 6" length of old chain around - instant chain whip. Just lock the pliers down on one end of the chain so that the free end sticks straight out from the front. Works for me.

yeah i to get some 1/8" chain, then if dunt work , its rotafix for sure!

hold the wheel between your legs and tap the cog teeth with a cold chisel and lump hammer. if the cog shatters it will come off really easily.

Yes! Ive done it- You just need some track chain and a chain tool. I left the original couple of links nearest the handle. The side pieces of the chain link can stretch wide enough to fit onto the track chain. Make sure at that connection you use one of the wider pins.

Ah, that's how you do it.
When I tried converting my 3/32 whip to 1/8, I was tryin gto actually pop the pin out of the handle and install a whole new chain.
Your way seems to make more sense.
