Hmm, it isn't that bad around here. Sure you don't see too many decent riders on older steel, but they are out there. I don't think most people would think much unless you were riding a bottom-of-the-line road bike from the 70's with cottered cranks, 27" rims, and 1 1/4" tires. Those bikes are fine for getting around, but racing one would be a total *****.

ugh, yeah i know. there's surprisingly no drag on it either! when i first built her up, i didn't have any housing that was long enough... so i just used the same housing and cable from my guerciotti. of course, now i that i have the new housing, i've been too lazy to redo it... ahem. i better this weekend though. i'm doing a century on the 4th.
