track frames on the cheap
 

so I'm looking right now at an iro mark V, a pake, or one of those $350 complete windsor jobs (selling everything and rebuild from the ground up). anyone know any frames under or around the $300 mark that are worth looking into? or which of these is my best bet?

the mercier is the cheapest track frame you'll get new.
the fork is nicer than the windsor, fuji or pista.

Probably going to be selling it soon, though.

Spicer/KHS/Mercier - all the same.

If you want to support spicer spend the extra cash, from what i read here, Gene's a great guy.

The Mercier is the same frame, but black, and for $25+/- more you get a complete bike...

making room for the cannondale?

Anyone got a link with more info on the Pake? I'm looking to expand the fleet in the near future.

hey, I've got a pake question--do you run a 49 on the front? is your bottom bracket small enough to make the left crank nearly flush with the frame?

the way mine is set up (by the lbs), the bottom bracket seems too big for the frame, yet the chainring doesn't look like it can get any closer to the frame without scraping. weird?

sounds like you have an assymetrical BB. like a shimano 110mm.

hm. hm. Is that something I should worry about/change? Or just leave be?

if you feel totally lopsided, or you just hate the aesthetics change it to a 107. you'll have the same chainline.
