track frames on the cheap
so I'm looking right now at an iro mark V, a pake, or one of those $350 complete windsor jobs (selling everything and rebuild from the ground up). anyone know any frames under or around the $300 mark that are worth looking into? or which of these is my best bet?

ebay Bianchi Pista
|
merrrrcier
you know that black frame is pretty |
the mercier is the cheapest track frame you'll get new.
the fork is nicer than the windsor, fuji or pista. |
|
i love my pake, as my signature attests. solid. black. beautiful.

Anyone got a link with more info on the Pake? I'm looking to expand the fleet in the near future.

check it out: http://www.pakebikes.com/ the way mine is set up (by the lbs), the bottom bracket seems too big for the frame, yet the chainring doesn't look like it can get any closer to the frame without scraping. weird? |

if you feel totally lopsided, or you just hate the aesthetics change it to a 107. you'll have the same chainline.
otherwise no problem. |

*edit - oh right, geometry too.. |
Pake! It's like a tank with wings!

I was just on FGG and now Pake is a "Gallery" supporter. Looks like Dennis will have it built up and then review it.
