Oakland Scrape Alleycat June 24th 5$
Me and a couple friends threw this together. all the entry fees go to Cycles of Change, it's a program that teaches kids how to build, fix, and ride bikes. they even get to keep the bike they rebuild.
Saturday June 24th
registration is $5 at 12 noon
the race starts at 1pm
it's a checkpoint race and will probably go about 20-25 mi
it starts @ Lakeside Park, Lake Merritt, Oakland, which is real close to Lake Merritt BART.
1st prize is a Brass Knuckles track frame (same company as bare knuckles) from Montano Velo and lots of other prizes from Chrome, Phil Wood, Reload, Bows & Arrows, white industries, Dr Hot Dog, Hella Love, rideSFO, Wrench Science, Missing Link, All Out, Soulcraft and we're STILL getting sponsors.
the checkpoints should be a lot of fun, the race is only $5, Monster Energy will be giving away free drinks, and entry fees help a kid get a bike. so check it out, it'll be worth it.
