shimano 600 chainring width...
..tryin to finish buying up all the pieces for my new bike... about to get a cog and chain.. but realised i dont know if my chainring is 3/32 or 1/8.. its an older shimano 600... this one here..

hmm, i'm not entirely sure. i don't know enough about the older shimano lines, but if those are anodized road cranks (with a 130bcd or whatever), then they're almost certainly 3/32. if, somehow, shimano made a 600-series bmx crank, then it's probably 1/8".

yeah, i figured i would just get a 1/8 if i didnt get an answer.... and i dont have any calipers to measure.. i think theyre bmx cranks, so i'm going to just get the 1/8 i guess..thanks.

No idea about what you have there but I thought I would chime in and say that I have two rides with 600 series cranks and they kick ass.

Or find a friend (you do have friends right?) that has a 1/8 or 3/32 CR and compare the 2.
You don't need a set of calipers, a 32nd is very obvious esp when you have something to compare it with. a tape measure or a simple ruler would be sufficient.
I have late eighties 600's and they are very very nice.

I have those same cranks(not gold) with the one key release and they are 3/32". Also, i have a real problem with the non drive side coming loose and creaking. I think it has to do with the one key release system.
