fuji track owners - what do you think?
I'm thinking of getting this as a second commuter bike (current is SS, i'd like to go fixed to give myself a better ass kicking on commutes ).
i cannot, for the life of me, find any reasonable reviews of the bike.
are there any issues with the bike out of the box? anything i need to know about? what do you owners out there think of it? let me know. i want to hear it all

On the 2006s (maybe 2005, not sure) the hubs are garbage and strip super easily.
The LBS near me that carries them just upgrades the wheelset on them for no charge.
That, and I believe Fuji recalled the wheels recently.

I love my Fuji Track. It doesn't look like this at all anymore though. I'll take some newer pictures later this week, I've upgraded it a bit since then...

BTW. I got it for commuting, and it does just that-- quickly! It's great unless you want to carry large loads - because you wouldn't want to stick a rack on a bike like that.. I'm not even sure if it could support one.
About the defect. Google cache deleted the site, but what happened was the Fuji Track 06's had a defective cog/lockring stock. It said specifically in the article to ask LBS for Dura Ace cog/lockring replacement. I had the article so they didn't ask me any questions, but Google cache doesn't have it anymore, so you're going to have to use your people skills ! Now-- about the hubs. The 05 carried Formula hubs, but no longer in the 06. Supposedly these hubs are a lot weaker. They say 'Made in Italy' in fine print on the side. I haven't had any problems with them yet and I've put quite a few miles into them.

my '05 track had no lockring, and in my ignorance of things fixed, I rode it that way for several weeks...fortunately without incident. The stock 48x16 gearing felt too stiff, and found out about the missing lockring when I put a 17t cog on. I also replaced the 48 w/ an iro 46t chainring, I like the new gearing alot, commuting is fun. Not so thrilled w/ the mustache bars I added, I want to try another setup eventually, bullhorns or track drops probably.

I have an 04, where in the only original parts are the frame fork and head set. It's a touch to small for me, but I still like it. beats the hell out of a conversion.

i got an 06 in early december and have ridden the living christ out of it since then with no problems. i still run a lot of stock stuff, and never heard about the cog/lockring recall, but i've never had a problem with this bike. i keep it in decent shape and it keeps treating me right.

oh whoops, yeah, got it confused with the year of my car, which I've had to remember the last couple of days because of new tires and an oil change. But yeah, my bike's an 02.
