What gearing with your IG8 wipperman/connex chain?

I shelved my mondo IG8 chain lately when I went to larger tires since the rear rubbed the seat tube. I love my 48x15 gearing but in favor of using that thick [but short] chain, I've ordered a 47t chainring. Think it will buy me enough length to get the tire away from the seat tube?

dunno about that, but I run a 49x 17 combo with that chain. It's on a roadie conversion however so I probably have longer chainstays ( I'm assuming you are riding a (short) track frame. I actually had to buy two chains to get me up and running, could possibly have gottten away with a smaller chainring, but that was almost as expensive as the second chain.

1 tooth less on the chainring will buy you 1/8 of an inch. Probably not enough.

I ran 45x18 and it was pretty much perfect for the stock length of the chain.
