i just rode my first alleycat monday-- the mayhem here in richmond. it was tight. super ****ing long, but super ****ing tight. everyone was stoked to have me along. sadly i did ride the majority of the race alone, but met up with the only other guy in the race that i really "know" and a friend of his at our last checkpoint, and we went to my place and blazed before we crossed the finishline. that's what i'm talking about. ps, i got DFL and i'm proud of it

Those New Haven alleycats showed me that knowing where you're going and how to get there can matter more than being really fast.
Oh, and carry a couple of tubes in case both tires are sliced open by knife-pavement.

quack, i assume you're doing the LOTCR/ choose your own adventure race next weekend? i'll be there, on my jonny frame. you should say hi!
ps - LOTCR last year was brutally long, hilly, and rainy (it even hailed at one point). i think in the end it was ~30 mi. be ready for some hill climbs and distance!
