Mozzy frame? Experience/Ever heard of it?

My first post on the forum.

After much research, I have decided to acquire a fixed gear, but have not decided on whether to build one up or purchase a complete bike (IRO, Mercier, Motobecane Messenger, Pista etc.). In my search for components, I came across this frame on ebay:

Has anyone ever heard of this frame? If so, any experience with it (quality, workmanship, etc.)?

The only thing that I would be careful of is the 130mm rear end (You could just buy a wheelset that has long axles like IROs though and put 5mm of spacers on either side though). If you are looking for a cheaper way to go fix'd, I'd recommend the IRO. For the same price it would cost to build that frame up, you could get an IRO with some personal touches, plus its satisfying and all to build up your own bike, but its also satisfying to not have any problems with a completely built one. If you are wanting to go very cheap look at the Mercier, Motobecane, Dawes, err well don't look at the Dawes hahaha. The IRO is the best buy though, not expensive and still quality were it counts.

Columbus tubing = good

Italian BB threading = possible PITA.

Why spend time on your first build with compromises? Unless this one is a rare frame that would fit you perfectly, I'd say keep looking.

as i was told, columbus thron is low end. thats a road frame, too. Are you looking to build a conversion?

that bike has these, which makes it road.

you can "convert" a road bike, but you're better off getting a track frame, and its cheaper to get one of those prefab ones that you listed.

Thanks for the responses everyone. Yes, I am aware of the differences between road and track frames and yes, my original thought was to do a conversion. The more I think about it, I like the idea of purchasing a complete bike, adding some personal touches to it, and upgrading components as I go along. If I end up going this route, one of the IRO offerings will do nicely.

who's the guy with the "the queen is dead" quote in his signature? THAT guy should look into one of these.

if you build this up, i recommend a suede saddle, and maybe some of those triathlon bottle cages that go behind the seat to hold your flowers.

so i emailed the guy (this was a while ago) and here was the response:

Other Specs: Rear spacing 120mm, clearance from road 28.5 cm, chromed drop outs, track ends.

it's a shame the track version doesn't go for 250 like the road, otherwise it'd be a steal.
