Bike nerd fun
I spent the past few days (viva vacation!) pulling together a map of the velospace social network: https://velospace.org/snapshot
Click a couple of times on any part of the map and it will get you zoomed in to a point where you can start to see some detail. You can also drag the map, etc.
You can zoom way in and see all kinds of neat detail on how the velospace friends system has grown. Each circle with a number in it represents a user, each arrow represents a friend connection. In all over 1500 connections were mapped.

Its not dynamically generated unfortunately. The source image (what you see when you are all the way zoomed in) is 57,000 x 14,000 pixels at 75mb! It takes about 15 minutes to generate the graph on a decent machine. I am going to work on making the graph easier to read and on replacing numbers with usernames for the next version

I really like how on some of the larger numbered nodes there's lines that loop back. Really nice work on velospace, as well as the new chart.
