my chain snapped
 

Riding up a hill on the way to work and I hear a really loud PING. and my chain goes whipping off. The link was bent wide and also a huge chunk of metal was torn from it. It's my first chain that I've snapped.

Anywhom, suggest a chain.

or the k810 if you're running 3/32" gear.

how long had you been riding the chain? what kind of maintainance do you do on your chains?

i was thinking more along the lines of a master link, or a link that had been rejoined incompletely. if the rivet slipped out, it acted as a lever, bending out and breaking off a part of the outer plate.

Ready to Ruck, what kind of chain was it? What is stamped on the links? Photos of the scrapnel?

cheap and burly... just trash the master link.
