Broke My Silva Strap Today
I broke my Silva, laminated toe strap today. I was riding slow and had a brake so it wasn't a big deal.
Recently, I had noticed the lamination splitting at the point where the break occured. I'd had been riding on the straps daily for about 6 months rarely using my brake. I frequently skip, but rarely skid. Just thought y'all would like to know. We've mentioned the strap a bunch around here, but I don't think anyone spoke of their long term durability. |
ack, sorry to hear it. sounds like it was a safe break though. splitting laminate is a good indication that the thing needs replacement.

i mean, having something that is laminated means that it is supposed to be stuck together and stay stuck together in order to stay strong and not break. if the parts are becoming un-stuck, i'd imagine that their strength/integrity is now compromised and they are prone to break. it's like saying "i noticed that the bolt kept coming more and more loose, then it finally popped out."

ask for a refund.
