I don't know about you, but if the law and common decency wasn't enough to deter me from stealing a bike, getting shot while doing it should do the trick, no?

Based on this, I don't think the guy was shot while he was attempting to steal the bike. It seems that he was shot during the arrest process.

There are a number of things you can do to get shot while being arrested.

while I'm not a fan of people being shot by police, he was stealing a bike...

Funny how $200 is the cut-off for value of stolen bicycles. All bikes are either valued above or below $200.

Also, being shot sucks (I would assume). I like the idea of karma, but I think it may have overstepped it's bounds there.
