wondering that myself.

3 friends and i did a 3am ride to coney island on saturday night. swam from around 4-5 in the warm water, watched the sun rise, and hit the road home around 6. nice night.

The only way to end a trip to Coney is to walk slowly down the beach while "In The City" plays in the background.

I just did a "pre-ride" today, going to court for my critical mass "failure to keep right" ticket. Because they carted in the cops from brooklyn, I had to go to traffic court there, which happens to be on W 8th st & Neptune Ave. I took the manhattan and shot down flatbush -->ocean avenue. I dont think I unclipped more than 2 or 3 times, and I wasn't racing. The best route would depend on where the race finishes. I'd imagine that it would be at the cyclone.

Anyway, I'm down for a racier preride. When do people want to do one?

apologies in advance for sounding like a *****y old ****, but...

does anyone remember when no one would have even thought about pre-riding an alleycat course? when checkpoints weren't given out beforehand? when alleycats were fun because you didn't know what to expect, how long you were going to have to ride, and what was in store for you? when people start doing crap like this, it's not even really an alleycat anymore. the term has been hopelessly diluted. no pre-rides. just show up at the start and race your ass off.

there i said it.

i seem to remember riding around the bronx and down a massive set of stairs with a certain bi-hawked menace a month or so ago before another race.

we don't even know the course. we're just riding to coney island. gimmie back my liver.
