Want clip-on disc wheel?
You know back in the days when MTBs had those clip-on disc wheels.
Well I am looking for one like that but in 700c for my bici so I can spray it black and put evil Slayer decals on it. Anyone know where I can get one? |
Never mind just found it.

For the love of <del>God</del> Slayer, post pics when it's done

CH Aero Disc Wheel Cover

Available for $60 from Excel Sports
http://www.excelsports.com/new.asp?p...=24&site=qbike |
Nice, will that work with High Flange hubs?
|
Not sure, but one of the customer reviews at Excel Sports states that the rider trimmed the outer edge to work with his aero rims, so I imagine you could take some off the inside as well. But then again, the cover is designed to work with cassettes so you will probably have enough space in the hole to slide everything on with no problem
|
kinda looks like a giant record
|
Oh man. That looks like fun!
What kind of hubs are you running? Let us know if it works. |
dude, thats actually a good idea- esp if you don't want to train with a disc.
|
Train?
I just want it for looks! ;) |

Sheet of 0.030" plastic (choose color)
String tied to a marker Pair of scissors Small zip ties 1/8" drill bit Matching electrical tape (for trim) Yea, I've made a few. Takes some time but it doesnt cost anywhere near $60. And when you are spinning no one will know the difference. |
how do you get the sheets into a proper lenticular shape that would fit over the spokes? Cut a slice out of it and tape it into an obtuse cone? Or is the plastic you are using flexible enough to stay securely next to the spokes?

It'll be for giggles, but there are so many fun things I could put on that huge surface for special occasions that it might entertain me enough to be called functional (function = to entertain). You know like a Zebra on one side and a Zobra on the other. |

Yeah they are going to be mad-deadly snakes!
Thinking about it there could be a pet of the day in there. One day it will be an ant-farm the next day a panda bear - going round and round and round... |
