lame-o question... which way to mount fixed cog?

Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

lame-o question... which way to mount fixed cog?

I have a fixed cog that has a lip to create some space from the cog to the spokes? I may have already answered my own question but should the lip face the spokes or outward towards the chainstays. I haven't installed it and tried because I dont have a whip to remove it onces its on there.

thanks in advance!

Sort of off topic...
Your lockring spins on, tightens, counterclockwise.
